Controlling Your Mind Power - Embrace Your Uniqueness

As you look around in your world and see the many other humans surrounding you, you may find it difficult to think of yourself as being unique. If you pause and ponder your existence for a time, however, it will become clear to you that you are indeed different from all others.

At the moment of your birth, you alone exited the womb of your mother at the time that you did. Even if you were in a multiple birth situation, you alone exited at the time that you did. You came into the world with a mind that is yours alone. Whatever sights an sounds you witnessed upon your arrival, no one else on earth witnessed what you witnessed or heard what you heard.

As thoughts began to register and form in your mind, no one alive, no one who had ever lived, nor will any one who will ever live know your thoughts. It was from your thoughts that your dreams and desires sprang and continue to spring. Your dreams and desires might seem similar to what other people are experiencing, but they are truly uniquely yours.

It may even seem that Nature (The Universe, God, Allah, Source Energy, Infinite Intelligence, or by whatever name It is called) conspired against you. You came into this world with five senses that were provided by Nature for the purpose of allowing you to navigate your physical surroundings. You were even conditioned to believe that if any experience you had could not be interpreted through one of those senses (sight, smell, taste, touch, or hearing) it simply was not REAL.

Even when you sought to share your thoughts, dreams, and desires with others, they interpreted what you were sharing with them through their own individual filters. Therefore, what you were attempting to share with them was distorted somewhat because of their self image filters. Conversely, the responses from them get somewhat distorted by your filters.

Through no fault of their own, people in your environment, generally, did not know how to account for your thoughts and images that you (and only you) experienced exclusively in your mind. Your five senses could not access them. Other people could not access them. This inner world was yours to do with what ever you pleased. You may have felt isolated which might have prompted you to seek the companionship of others. In exchange for their companionship, you attempted to be like them.

Once again, through no fault of their own, people in your life did not know how to teach (condition) you HOW to use your mind to consciously attract the kinds of situations, conditions, and things you desired, for in all likelihood they did not know how to use their minds either. Whatever you attracted and continue to attract is totally unique to you.

Unfortunately, your environment and the people in it began to slowly strangle the life out of your dreams and desires very early in your life. They began to condition you, with your permission, to be like others in your neighborhood, your school, your church. Later you were influenced by media outlets, television and movies, to forget your desires and adopt the ones they portray.

Embrace your uniqueness. It is the source of all of your individual dreams and desires. If you do not fully appreciate and embrace your own uniqueness, it is almost certain that no one else will. At the present stage of your life, accepting your total self including your unique qualities, is probably going to be a bit of a challenge at first, but please never, never, never give up on developing, embracing, and expressing that uniqueness.

This I know for sure. You can claim or re-claim control of your own mind power. You are the most miraculous of all living beings on earth. You are the owner of a mind that is so stupendous, that as you truly begin controlling your mind power and consciously using it, there is no dream that you can dream that you cannot achieve.

Unique Fundraiser: The Importance Of Uniqueness

One of the most essential things that you need to make sure before doing a fundraiser for your sports team, school, clubs or charitable organization is to keep it unique. A unique fundraiser can boost sales since people become more curious and interested on your project. Make sure that customers will support your activities because they will keep your project going and successful.

When fundraising activities regularly occur on your neighborhood, it is highly recommended that your unique fundraiser should be interesting and attractive to customers. Imagine a basket of bananas where there are bunch of yellow bananas and a green one in the middle. If you were to choose one, clearly you would choose the green one since it's the odd one out of all of them. This will make your fundraising campaign stand out above others and in return generate good sales. You should make your project well-known and more unique than others since people don't like monotonous events. When people are interested and become curious about your fundraising project, there is a high chance that they would take part on it. In doing this, you should first determine what kind of fundraising idea within your community is commonly organize. For example, if people are already doing fundraisers in which they would sell cookie dough, flower bulbs and scented pencils in your community, then do something different like selling out candies and chocolate bars that people really love. You can save your fundraising campaign the difficulty of having a tough completion in your area and in return generate a steady income.

You must be thinking right now that you should always come up with something new and fresh every time you set out your plans for your fundraiser campaign. If you can come up with new and fresh ideas whenever you do another fundraiser then you may do so. On the other hand, this not a necessity especially if you will be organizing fundraiser campaign from time to time because you will surely dry out of ideas sooner or later. When that comes, you can always try using your old but successful fundraising ideas again. Just add some variation and new concepts to them so that it will look more interesting again. With this strategy, you are sure that people will once again support your fundraising project and of course adding it up to your lists of successful fundraisers.

Properly organizing and working hard on essential details of your new and fresh fundraiser ideas would come a long way even though you have the utmost confidence on their effectiveness. These ideas are just the seeds of your success; it doesn't instantly guarantee that your project will become profitable in the near future. Watering them, nurturing them and making sure that they grow into something worthwhile are some of the things that you should take into your mind. This includes looking for a good fundraising company to help you start, setting up your achievable goals and objectives, incorporating teamwork with your volunteer teams and working on an effective advertising strategy.

Have More Faith In Your Uniqueness

Do you realize just how much your knowledge is worth? You are the first and most important part of your business. Do you realize just how unique you are? If we were to sit down to chat and I asked you about your life and business experience I doubt it will be a carbon copy of what someone else has shared with me. You are absolutely unique, I'm certain of that. Perhaps the issue is not whether you can charge a certain amount for your services or products. It is rather just how much faith do you have in your uniqueness?

A while back, on one of my teleseminar calls, I invited some clients to share their stories. They had attended my information empire workshop and had implemented specific strategies as a result. If you were on that call, you would have heard me speak with one of my clients, Gail. During the interview, Gail revealed something very interesting. She said that it was some of the little things that actually highlighted how she valued herself (or under-valued herself).

Gail is a life coach who works with professional and amateur golfers. She helps them to improve their mental game. One of the things Gail realised in coming on the workshop was how many little things she was doing to please clients and other people. She wouldn't think twice of driving out to clients or travelling to a seminar. It wasn't that those were bad things. But when she heard me talking about doing business on my terms, that I ran the workshop in my home town because it was convenient for me, she wondered why she'd never considered that for her business. Gail realised that she had personal beliefs that were undervaluing her business as a result. She realised it was possible for her to work on her terms. She just needed to value her uniqueness and what she was offering her clients.

I love the tag line in the Loreal adverts that say 'Because I'm worth it!' That's what you need to be saying to yourself. Have more faith in your uniqueness.

Developing Faith in your Uniqueness

• Are you pricing your products low because you think that will attract more clients? Is that their true value? Or should they really be at a much higher price level?

• Do you find yourself bending over backwards to accommodate clients? Is that really beneficial to your business or could you be doing things some other way?

• Do you question why people would want to pay to listen to you or buy your products? If that is the case it's a sure sign that you don't have much faith in your uniqueness.

• Do your personal beliefs sometimes make you hesitate to take a step forward in business?

• Is there a mentor or coach you could work with that can help you find your true value as part of your business? Sometimes changing the small things can make a big impact on the way you do business.

You are the first essential element in building your business to greater heights. Your knowledge is unique to you and because of that it has a value. If you question what to charge or if you can really set certain systems in place then maybe it's your beliefs that need changing. Have more faith in your uniqueness. It is on that that you will build the value of your business.

How to Craft Your Uniqueness Statement

The average person has an attention span of merely 15 seconds. You don't have a lot of time when someone asks you the inevitable question, "What do you do?" In the personal branding process, it's imperative to have a Uniqueness Statement that establishes rapport and sets you apart from the rest.

A Uniqueness Statement (often referred to as a Unique Selling Proposition or USP) is an opportunity to make an emotional connection with your target market by touching on the qualities and values that you stand for, and by highlighting the benefits that a potential client will receive by working with you. There's nothing worse than being caught off guard when someone asks you about your work, or feeling unprepared or flustered, and not taking advantage of an opportunity to make a powerful connection.

A Uniqueness Statement will:

Increase your confidence when speaking about what you do
Help you present yourself with polish and professionalism
Build credibility
Differentiate you from the rest of the pack
Help build rapport with your prospect
Create excitement about your products and services

So how do you build a powerful Uniqueness Statement? Here are four steps to get you started:

Identify Your Target Market - Who are your clients? Who do you most want to be working with?
Communicate Your Area of Specialization - What is your "Zone of Genius?" What do you do better than anyone else?
Highlight the Benefits of Working With You - How have your clients benefited from working with you? What have they achieved as a result of your working together?
Motivate Them Into Action - After meeting you, how could they learn more about you or even work with you?

For example, you're not just a fashion stylist. You help female executives over 40 build chic, well-curated wardrobes and present themselves with flair and confidence. Your last three clients purged half of their closets and now can't wait to get dressed each morning. One of them received a promotion at work and another met her husband-to-be. Anyone can sign up on your website for your weekly tips on "How To Build A Wardrobe That You Love."

Or, you're not just an herbal acupuncturist, you help mothers between the ages of 35-55 who have struggled with chronic fatigue syndrome regain their energy and vitality through custom immune-building programs and treatments. Within six months, most of your clients have renewed energy and are sleeping better than they have in years. A recent client just climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro after battling chronic fatigue for more than 10 years. For more information and to get your article "Ten Tips For Increasing Your Energy TODAY," potential clients can sign up at your website.

You get the idea. Anyone can be a doctor, lawyer, event planner, financial planner, personal trainer or freelance writer. But only you can be YOU - in all of your unique glory.

Much of the work in crafting your Uniqueness Statement is in practicing your message and perfecting its delivery. Remember, this is a living, breathing statement about who you are, so it's going to be a work in progress and will evolve over time.

I know you're wondering, so here's mine - as of today.

I teach female entrepreneurs and small business owners how to build powerful, confident personal brands that attract more clients and position themselves as experts. Through my proprietary system I help them develop and implement an effective marketing strategy that will build their buzz online and off. Results often come quickly; recently two different clients tripled their business in less than a year by gaining clarity around their personal brand and implementing a solid marketing plan. The Uniqueness Factor

They are age-old questions that completely take most companies by surprise.

"Why should I choose you? What makes your service different?"

You would think that owners of such companies would train their employees to answer such a question, but they don't.

When such a company can't inform the customer why it's different, the customer's perception is this; they are not unique, they are not different in anyway and what they offer is completely the same as their competitors.

Sadly, this misperception is allowed to continue from one company to the next.

So the customer has a choice, pick any company at whim or pick the one that has the lowest price. Since they are all the same why not save some money.

Now, the intelligent business would look at this scenario and figure out ways to be different, to emphasize something in their delivery, their product or their training that makes them unique in some way and capitalize on it.

The problem, they don't! They take the easy way out and lower their prices in hopes that that makes them unique enough in the eyes of potential clients to call them.

No one benefits from price wars, not even the customer.

Price does not make you unique. It may garner work, and get you customers, but most likely they are more trouble than they are worth and that doesn't make for a healthy company nor does it contribute in any way to your unique factor.

Turn open any telephone book and immediately go to section that best fits your industry you will instantly see why most companies are not unique in any way.

For the sake of argument I will pick on carpet cleaning, as this was the industry that I started in as an entrepreneur.

You will see things like, "two step cleaning process", "latest in fast drying", "environmentally safe", "expert technicians"... the same pictures, a list of equipment they use, certifications, name, address and phone number. Boring.

When I see any ad that mentions how many steps they take I wonder if they are cleaning or dancing. And frankly, if the company can't provide fast drying, environmentally safe or expert technicians, do I really want to use them. I mean, really... how many advertise that they send Joe Moron to come out and that he will use toxic products and keep the carpet wet for days. None.

I cringe when I see companies advertising the equipment they use. Like the sheer mention of using Turbo Sonic Truck Mount 3000 is supposed to illicit some Pavlovian response that forces people to call just to have their carpet massaged with my super duper clean-o-matic machine. Sorry, it never happens.

People don't care about your equipment, your cleaning process or how smart your technician is...what they care about is how clean you will make their carpet look when you are done cleaning.

If you truly want to be unique...why not try a little honesty.

Yes, I did say honesty.

"Ma'am I can't speak on what other cleaners are using, or what you can expect from them, but I will try my best to address all of your concerns and deliver a service that you will be proud of, that you'll want to tell your friends about."

Yes, a little honesty goes a long ways.

If you are going to put an ad in the phone book, why not explain to people what they can expect from you upfront... with no dancing, no mention of machines, or how smart your technicians are, or about your chemicals or your drying speeds.

"If you've never experienced our services before then I invite you to call. You'll receive..." then explain in plain easy to understand language all the benefits your customer will receive using your service. No bullet points! Actually, write out a few sentences. Make it personable and friendly, make it real!

If you want to be different, then you have to start thinking different.

Sure, most cleaners will deliver the same service, there is no denying that.

It's the perception you give the customer, the extra attention to detail and the over the top service you deliver that will set you apart from your competition.

For starters, use corner guards, hose wraps, lawn spikes, stair hooks, booties, furniture sliders, a clean van and a clean technician with a clean uniform show that you care. An educational information packet sent to every caller letting them know what they can expect from your service, or carpet cleaning in general, goes a long way in creating your uniqueness factor.

A hand-written "Thank You" note, a follow up telephone call, a monthly newsletter or reminders prove to the customer that you are there for them, that you care about them and are willing to help them when called upon.

The more unique you can be, the better positioned you will become as the go-to expert in your field.

Translation... the more unique you are, the more money you will make!

Uniqueness Is Critical To Your Longevity

One of the more important criteria necessary to your success building a solid Network Marketing business is Unique Products and unique means different things to different people. Many Networkers will say that a product is unique as long as it isn't already being sold on the market, or if the product is one of a kind, or if you can fill a niche and create an income from that.

But what does unique really mean and how will that criteria help you create a substantial and progressively growing residual income?

There are actually three different areas to consider. Three criteria necessary to consider a product line as unique... And all three must be present.

Products must serve multiple different categories. This means not one-dimensional and therefore giving a wider range of possible customers. For example if the product line is nutritional only, you're losing customers based on only half the population is interested in nutritional items. Now while half the population is a good thing, having multiple products that are attractive to the WHOLE population is much better.

Companies that offer a broad spectrum of products that actually fall in to multiple industries (such as Personal Hygiene, Beauty, Household, Nutrition, etc), have a greater opportunity to gain customers, since most people agree that shopping from one 'Store' is easier and preferable to multiple stores or companies.

Also, since the above-mentioned industries are each multiple-billion dollar industries, the income potential for the individual involved in more than one of them will increase accordingly.

Products must be unique enough to have patents on them. Many companies, especially nutritional companies, are just 'me-too' companies. They figure that just making the product seem unique will be enough. So they change the flavor, or the color, or the bottle, or the so-called prime ingredient, then re-name it and call it Unique.

Cool.

The problem with that is there are now a bunch of other companies marketing a very similar product with no uniqueness and no patenting ability since all they did was change how the product appears.

To own a patent, a product must go through clinical trials and produce a desired result that NO OTHER product does. If there is no patent then the product really is nothing more than a copy-cat, something just thrown into a bottle, a jar, or a packet.

That's why in the nutritional industry for example, a person can walk into any store and buy all kinds of items that have trace amounts of healthful elements.

In a patented product, those elements are profoundly present and effective. But in a 'me-too' product, the effects of healthful elements (eg. garlic or glucosamine), are more often than not, minimized or even neutralized due to mass production ingredients and inability to use the patented formula of the original recipe.

So be aware of copy-cat products. They can produce some excitement out of the gate, and if the MLM company is managed extremely well, may even last a few years. But once the initial hype has run its course, people will realize that these products are just like all the others.

Products have to serve the masses. This is crucial! Many one-dimensional companies are faced with this problem: You the distributor have to SELL or convince the prospect that they NEED this product... and so do all your potential down lines!

Most single-product companies have products that prospects at this time in their lives simply do not use! So the first thing a distributor needs to do is convince the prospect they NEED the item in question. All kinds of issues come up from that.

Good salespeople are hard to find for one thing. And since most people hate to sell or just plain suck at it, how in the world will a substantial and progressively growing residual income ever be achieved when all of your future customers must come through the efforts of people who can not or will not sell? The MLM industry is not about sales (believe it or not).

To be successful here, you need to be able to help people. That's it. Help people find solutions to their problems. When you do that, people will want to buy from you and get involved with you.

Now the best way to help someone is to show him or her a product that they already use, but has the uniqueness already mentioned in the first two points. So basically, all the prospect has to do now, in order to take advantage of your offer or your company, is switch stores.

I mean, they're already buying similar products from somewhere else - albeit inferior 'me-too' products -right? So if you can help them by either saving them money or increasing the effectiveness of the products (or both), you will gain a new customer.

If every single person you meet or know or who visits your website, is already using similar products to what your company is offering, then they are a potential new customer when you meet the above criteria.

Add in the moneymaking aspect (since stores like Walmart or Costco or Safeway or all other retail stores they currently buy from don't pay them to shop there), you also have a much greater potential of a substantial long-term business.

I wish you much success in all your online adventures!

What Makes You Unique (Alter Your Uniqueness and Be an Elite Person)

For being unique, there are no hard rules to follow. It depends upon our society, culture, acquaintances, and many other things.

In a situation, when an individual decides on anything, his decision is affected by many thoughts; before making any decision, our mind takes many things into consideration intentionally and unintentionally.

Here are some tips which can make you a unique individual.

1. Brand yourself through your signature style.

Have you identified your signature style yet? Are you engaging, entertaining, moving, intense, funny, bold, serene, boring, or threatening? If not, then find out!

Your signature style gives a brand to your personality, by which you are known or achieve popularity amongst your circle.

Don't rush after things that you don't have in yourself, just try to find your main strength. It's extremely important to know what it is, that comes from inside of you. Then, you have to work on it, improve your signature style day by day and start winning compliments for that. Plus, It becomes a great reason for people to prompt up your name in their discussions, because it makes you unique amongst your friends.

For example, if a person feels he is entertaining, he should work on his ability to entertain people, explore new ways, and get even better at it. His personality will then be branded by his signature style in everyone's mind, people will have a reason to talk about him, and he will have something in him to be talked about.

2. Have life experiences by travelling.

Travelling is one of the best ways to explore your uniqueness and influence people. You will probably notice that you and your friends are mostly alike; you have the same style, you are interested in the same topics, so on and so forth. But when you travel, you meet people with different backgrounds and different perspectives on mostly everything, it helps you to understand how unique you are from the rest of the people; it also lets you explore the things which you can never understand by remaining in your social circle.

Travelling allows you to spend time with yourself, explore your strengths and weaknesses. Visiting different places provides you a remarkable opportunity to know the diversity with which the world is filled.

An unfamiliar environment gives you a feeling of mystery to know more about it, and when you share your experiences and deliver this mystery to others, you can win the attention of any audience around you.

Meeting people unlike oneself does not enlarge one's outlook; it only confirms one's idea that one is unique. ~ Elizabeth Bowen

3. Be artistic... Learn to play a musical instrument.

Playing music itself is a fantastic way of expressing your uniqueness. Someone who is attached to the arts in any way is always unique; it gives a sense of achievement to the person, which leads to confidence.

Being attached to music and arts gifts with some great attributes; when you start playing a musical instrument and get better at it, your hand coordination gets improved, and similarly, your body language gets better and better.

Playing a musical instrument gives you multiple feelings, like, a sense of completion, a sense of achievement, relaxation, confidence etc., And that adds great value to your charisma level, which every other person does not have; you start to look unique in your social circle.

It's not as difficult and engaging as one feels, prefer it as your hobby; choose an instrument which suites you the most, then start learning it first, you can learn it easily at your home through your computer too; as soon as you start learning it, you will feel the change it brings to your personality.

4. Be an elite person.

Being an elite person is greatly important for various reasons, it helps you to make connections with people, it can warm things up in your love life, it increases your popularity, and it brings an authoritative, charismatic and influential person out of you.

If you want to be an elite person, then there is work to do, you need to learn and adopt the common practices of elite people. People are most likely to find a person unique and attractive if they are fully living and expressing their core values.

Elite people have vision, they create their own goals and virtues, because we only strive and do better when we have something to look forward to. Create your own goals and have a vision, and if you do not create them, someone else will create them and who knows where that will lead you.

On Uniqueness

Is being special or unique a property of an object (let us say, a human being), independent of the existence or the actions of observers - or is this a product of a common judgement of a group of people?

In the first case - every human being is "special", "one of a kind, sui generis, unique". This property of being unique is context-independent, a Ding am Sich. It is the derivative of a unique assembly with a one-of-its-kind list of specifications, personal history, character, social network, etc. Indeed, no two individuals are identical. The question in thenarcissist's mind is where does this difference turn into uniqueness? In other words, there are numerous characteristics and traits common to twospecimen of the same species. On the other hand, there are characteristics and traits, which set them apart. There must exist a quantitative point where it would be safe to say that the difference outweighs the similarity, the "Point of Uniqueness", wherein individuals are rendered unique.

But, as opposed to members of other species, differences between humans (personal history, personality, memories, biography) sooutweigh similarities - that we can safely postulate, prima facie, that all human beings are unique.

To non-narcissists, this should be a very comforting thought. Uniqueness is not dependent on the existence of an outside observer. It is the by-product of existence, an extensive trait, and not the result of an act of comparison performed by others.

But what happens if only one individual is left in the world? Can he then still be said to be unique?

Ostensibly, yes. The problem is then reduced to the absence of someone able to observe, discern and communicate this uniqueness to others. But does this detract from the fact of his uniqueness in any way?

Is a fact not communicated no longer a fact? In the human realm, this seems to be the case. If uniqueness is dependent on it being proclaimed - then the more it is proclaimed, the greater the certainty that it exists. In thisrestricted sense, uniqueness is indeed the result of the common judgement ofa group of people. The larger the group - the larger the certainty that it exists.

To wish to be unique is a universal human property. The very existence of uniqueness is not dependent on the judgement of a group of humans.

Uniqueness is communicated through sentences (theorems) exchanged between humans. The certainty that uniqueness exists IS dependent upon the judgement of a group of humans. The greater the number of persons communicating the existence of a uniqueness - the greater the certainty that it exists.

But why does the narcissist feel that it is important to ascertain the existence of his uniqueness? To answer that, we must distinguish exogenous from endogenous certainty.

Most people find it sufficient to have a low level of exogenous certainty regarding their own uniqueness. This is achieved with the help of their spouse, colleagues, friends, acquaintances and even random (but meaningful) encounters. This low level of exogenous certainty is, usually, accompanied by a high level of endogenous certainty. Most people love themselves and, thus, feel that they are distinct and unique.

So, the main determinant in feeling unique is the level of endogenous certainty regarding one's uniqueness possessed by an individual.

Communicating this uniqueness becomes a limited, secondary aspect, provided for by specific role-players in the life of the individual.

Narcissists, by comparison, maintain a low level of endogenous certainty. They hate or even detest themselves, regard themselves as failures. They feel that they are worthy of nothing and lack uniqueness.

This low level of endogenous certainty has to be compensated for by a high level of exogenous certainty.

This is achieved by communicating uniqueness to people able and willing to observe, verify and communicate it to others. As we said before, this is done by pursuing publicity, or through political activities and artistic creativity, to mention a few venues. Tomaintain the continuity of the sensation of uniqueness - a continuity ofthese activities has to be preserved.

Sometimes, the narcissist secures this certainty from "self-communicating" objects.

An example: an object which is also a status symbol is really a concentrated "packet of information" concerning the uniqueness of its owner. Compulsive accumulation of assets and compulsive shopping can be added to the above list of venues. Art collections, luxury cars and stately mansions communicate uniqueness and at the same time constitute part of it.

There seems to be some kind of "Uniqueness Ratio" between Exogenous Uniqueness and Endogenous Uniqueness. Another pertinent distinction is between the Basic Component of Uniqueness (BCU) and the Complex Component of Uniqueness (CCU).

The BCU comprises the sum of all the characteristics, qualities and personal history, which define a specific individual and distinguish him from the rest of Mankind. This, ipso facto, is the very kernel of his uniqueness.

The CCU is a product of rarity and obtainability. The more common and the more obtainable a man's history, characteristics, and possessions are - the more limited his CCU. Rarity is the statistical distribution of properties and determinants in the general population and obtainability - the energy required to secure them.

As opposed to the CCU - the BCU is axiomatic and requires no proof. We are all unique.

The CCU requires measurements and comparisons and is dependent, therefore, on human activities and on human agreements and judgements. The greater the number of people in agreement - the greater the certainty that a CCU exists and to what extent it does.

In other words, both the very existence of a CCU and its magnitude depend on the judgement of humans and are better substantiated (=more certain) the more numerous the people who exert judgement.

Human societies have delegated the measurement of the CCU to certain agents.

Universities measure a uniqueness component called education. It certifies the existence and the extent of this component in their students. Banks and credit agencies measure elements of uniqueness called affluence and creditworthiness. Publishing houses measure another one, called "creativity" and "marketability".

Thus, the absolute size of the group of people involved in judging the existence and the measure of the CCU, is less important. It is sufficient to have a few social agents which REPRESENT a large number of people (=society).

There is, therefore, no necessary connection between the mass communicability of the uniqueness component - and its complexity, extent, or even its existence.

A person might have a high CCU - but be known only to a very limited circle of social agents. He will not be famous or renowned, but he will still be very unique.

Such uniqueness is potentially communicable - but its validity is not be effected by the fact that it is communicated only through a small circle of social agents.

The lust for publicity has, therefore, nothing to do with the wish to establish the existence or the measure of self-uniqueness.

Both the basic and the complex uniqueness components are not dependent upon their replication or communication. The more complex form of uniqueness is dependent only upon the judgement and recognition of social agents, which represent large numbers of people. Thus, the lust for mass publicity and for celebrity is connected to how successfully the feeling of uniqueness is internalized by the individual and not to "objective" parameters related to the substantiation of his uniqueness or to its scope.

We can postulate the existence of a Uniqueness Constant that is composed of the sum of the endogenous and the exogenous components of uniqueness (and is highly subjective). Concurrently a Uniqueness Variable can be introduced which is the sum total of the BCU and the CCU (and is more objectivelydeterminable).

The Uniqueness Ratio oscillates in accordance with the changing emphases within the Uniqueness Constant. At times, the exogenous source of uniqueness prevails and the Uniqueness Ratio is at its peak, with the CCU maximized. At other times, the endogenous source of uniqueness gains the upper hand andthe Uniqueness Ratio is in a trough, with the BCU maximized. Healthy peoplemaintain a constant amount of "feeling unique" with shifting emphases between BCU and CCU. The Uniqueness Constant of healthy people is always identical to their Uniqueness Variable. With narcissists, the story is different. It would seem that the size of their Uniqueness Variable is a derivative of the amount of exogenous input. The BCU is constant and rigid.

Only the CCU varies the value of the Uniqueness Variable and it, in turn, is virtually determined by the exogenous uniqueness element.

A minor consolation for the narcissist is that the social agents, who determine the value of one's CCU do not have to be contemporaneous or co-spatial with him.

Narcissists like to quote examples of geniuses whose time has come only posthumously: Kafka, Nietzsche, Van Gogh. They had a high CCU, which was not recognized by their contemporary social agents (media, art critics, or colleagues).

But they were recognized in later generations, in othercultures, and in other places by the dominant social agents.

So, although true that the wider an individual's influence the greater his uniqueness, influence should be measured "inhumanly", over enormous stretches of space and time. After all, influence can be exerted on biological or spiritual descendants, it can be overt, genetic, or covert.

There are individual influences on such a wide scale that they can be judged only historically.
