The result should include gifts that will likely fit in with the nursery décor versus something like a Mickey Mouse lamp. Even if you have already setup a baby registry, many times people either don't know how to get items that are on a registry or they choose to get something different. This will give those people something to work with and a color to shop for.
When preparing your unique baby shower invitations for the mail, place the invitations in an envelope that reflects one of the nursery colors. This is another great way to use the power of suggestion in your favor. Many people will take the invitation along with them when they are shopping for a gift so they will have that nice little envelope with them to match items to that exact shade. Modern moms are staying away from registries and allowing their guests to be creative and unique. If this is the route that you have chosen why not send them shopping with a little direction as to at least which color you prefer.
